The Fine Art of Nature

The Fine art of Nature is an interactive installation designed to connect children and families with nature. It is a non-profit community event. The installation will turn the gallery into a family nature house, artworks inspired by the natural world will sit alongside live and preserved specimens. There is plenty of opportunity for a creative hands-on experience.'The Nest’ will provide a cozy space for young children to hang out, create artwork, do puzzles, read, or simply look at natural forms. ‘The Table of Contents’ will be set up as a naturalists/artists desk with an opportunity to observe specimens and sketch/paint observations made at the gallery. Workshops will be held weekly at the gallery for children and adults; from animal mask making, to learning bird song, to making cottonwood balm. The Fine art of Nature is a springboard for a series of nature based field trips that will run twice a month from June to November for children and youth.
